One of the most exciting parts of planning your wedding is picking out the perfect color palette. Maybe you have a set of colors you've been dreaming of since you were a little girl or maybe, like so many brides-to-be, you're looking to capture today's color trends for a fresh look that will forever lock your special day in the memories of all who attend.
For the latest color trends, we turn to Pantone Color Institute, long regarded as cutting-edge, color trend experts. Proving that 2016 is an exceptional year, Pantone has given two colors the distinction of "color of the year": rose quartz and serenity- a soft, periwinkle blue. It is the stunning combination of these two hues that has Pantone excited. Leatrice Eiseman, Pantone's Executive Director recently stated "Joined together Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer, embracing rose and the cooler, tranquil blue, reflection connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace."
Even the wedding experts over at The Knot are hailing these two colors a hot, new wedding trend. They point to the versatility of these colors in bridal palettes, stating "We’re picturing this combo mixing with light purples for airy pastel palettes, or with taupe and smoke green for nature-inspired themes".
The one, possible downside to choosing lighter colors is the possibility of the colors getting lost in the background of your photographs. If these colors are part of your palette, it is especially important that you consult with and hire an expert wedding photographer. Unlike hobbyists, an expert wedding photographer will know how to capture even the most subdued tones through skillful use of the latest equipment and lighting available.
